Michiko Mitani, a single office worker, isn’t exactly living her best life. Her boss harasses her at work, and in her private life, she feels like an outsider looking in on everyone else’s happiness.

On a whim, she decides to meet a guy she matched with on a dating app. He came across as cheerful and outgoing online, yet he’s the complete opposite in person. Still, Michiko finds herself drawn to him.
